UEFA have decided to postpone the Europa League match between Villarreal and Qarabag on matchday six of the Europa League because of cases of COVID-19 in the visiting team.
The Europa League clash between Villarreal and Qarabag was put into doubt on Tuesday after cases of coronavirus in the Azerbaijani side and UEFA have now decided to call off the fixture.
It is not known whether Villarreal will be awarded the three points or if the fixture will be rescheduled.
The match, which was due to take place on Thursday at 21:00 CET, had nothing at stake as Villarreal were guaranteed top spot in the group and so they will be seeded for the last 32 draw. Qarabag will definitely finish bottom of Group I and are out of the competition.
